Working closely with the Society over more than a year, we designed and developed a bespoke website that brings together membership management, online research resources, event bookings, news, workshops, a members-only area and eCommerce functionality into one intuitive platform. Today the Society supports family historians researching ancestors across North West Kent, South East London and beyond, offering meetings, workshops and research facilities both in person and online.

The North West Kent Family History Society (NWKFHS) approached WA Designs to completely modernise their online presence, replacing an outdated HTML website with a powerful, fully responsive Joomla! content management system. The aim was to create a modern platform capable of supporting a growing membership, extensive genealogy resources and an expanding programme of online and in-person events.

Designed Around the Needs of Family Historians

Every aspect of the website has been designed to help members discover their family history with ease. Visitors can browse upcoming talks, research resources, surname interests, society news and membership benefits through a clean, accessible interface optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

Behind the scenes, Joomla! provides the Society's volunteers with a flexible content management system that makes updating events, publishing news, managing memberships and expanding research resources straightforward. The result is a future-proof digital platform that continues to grow alongside one of the UK's most respected family history societies.
